Finally got the rears painted so have a matching set of wheels finally! Really happy with how they came out considering I rushed them! Repaired the curbing from winter mishaps and filled the dent where a fox logo was previously and you can't really tell! Also YetiDragon came to collect the tonneau cover and racing beat roll bar I sold to Painter Dave. He showed me the headlight lid vents he'd designed and so happened to have his prototype with him. Managed to pry it from his hands for decent price so very happy with it. Admitedly this isn't as good a fit as his latest ones (remember my one is the prototype which led on to the new design so it will have a few teething issues) but I'm more for the function of it with these hot days! I also still need to spray it to colour match, though it isn't a million miles off at the moment. It's bloody strong too as he went to town on the fibreglass for this one so hopefully that'll add some front torsional stiffness :sarcasm: Comments Welcomed!

Not much to update as of late as been driving more than modding! Did however get round to fitting the 17cm Alpine Type S components which I've amped off a Kenwood 2*50w rms amp so twice the power of my Headunit (They say 4*50w on the headunits but mean 4*27w rms) Also fitted the fogs which I'd wired ages ago. Had tried to mount them up a while ago but sheared a bolt whilst doing it so only just got round to drilling that out. Let me know what you think! Currently looking for things to spend my student loan on when it comes in Going to get the wishbones polybushed and fitted and an alignment done. Bit worried it will ride too hard for UK roads then so thinking some better coilovers would be more comfortable whilst actually giving a better control of the road than my current too damped bilstein's and standard springs. Also want to get a few bits painted (the lip and hardtop mainly) and a few more styling bits to finish it off. Am thinking go over show though so it may have to look tatty for a bit longer in exchange for handling EVEN better Also the clutch still wont die so am still on hold with the 1.8 clutch and fly. Not sure a lightened OEM 1.8 fly will be light enough for me though

Long Overdue update! Had an issue with the Brake caliper sticking and so had a mini fire going on on my nearside after a quick blat and so had to get some new discs and yellow stuffs for the front Initial impressions are it seems better but the brake fluid and braided lines definately need sorting soon as the pedals a bit spongey (Has been for a bit). Other than that I went to a Haloween meet with my local car club back home and one of the guys was nice enough to grab some pics of mine. I apologise as I didn't bother cleaning the car so it looks pretty bad but still the most professional pictures of it so far Didn't think I had such a large arch gap until now but coilovers are on the way early next year as the standard soft springs and Bilstein shocks is a bad combo. Also have been in talks with a guy I know about knocking me up some chassis rail reinforcements on the cheap. Thinking may go for thicker Ally over Steel but will see. If I get chance this year I'll mock them up in CAD with different materials and see what thickness Ally I'd need to compare with 2mm Steel strength and then see what the weight difference is. Tbh though I'm so busy with Uni atm that the cars pretty much on hold When I do manage to crack on with that I'm going to have a think about making some form of butterfly brace for it and hopefully tie the front and rear subframes into this as well. Then it's only a roll cage with door bars left to get the car somewhere I'm happy in terms of suspension, stiffness and braking. Then it's only buckets with a harness before I can start looking into turbo's. Tbh though that'll be when I get a job end of next year when I'm done at uni most likely. Other than that still many other bits sitting in my room to sort out but it's too bloody cold and I have far too much uni work atm

Yeah cracking cars mate and they both sound like nice ones you've had!
Doing automotive Engineering in my last year of my Masters. Is it Owen Philips? If so I do know him as designing the exhaust system as part of my course for the formula student team he's in charge of. Didn't know he drove a swift though

The handling is awesome but will be even better once the polybushes are on and I get the alignment sorted!

Gave the car its first wax in ages in anticipation of Fast show. Also did a fair few niggly bits like taking old stickers off screen, tidier tax disc holder, glued in my tweeters, half bucketed my passenger seat (driver has had the full foamectomy (removing foam from seats) for ages but thought only fair passengers don't get chucked around!). My mate took the pictures (not a camera phone ) and for the first time they aren't on my drive As you can see we have quite contrasting cars! My drive at uni now has two landy's, two mx5s and a range rover V8 buggy Comments/Opinions/Criticism?
